what's inside
Every herb in this blend is sourced organic, hand-blended, and chosen with intention. Tap any leaf to learn more.
What the world calls Blue Lotus is, more often than not, something equally worthy of reverence: Nymphaea nouchali, the Blue Water Lily. A close cousin to the famed Egyptian Blue Lotus of pharaohs and papyrus scrolls, this flower carries its own quiet magic — softer, more approachable, and beautifully suited to the contemplative smoke.
When welcomed into a smoking blend or enjoyed as a solo herb, Blue Water Lily offers a subtle psychoactive character — a gentle ease in the body, a mild lift in mood, and a touch of that soft, dreamy clarity that has made lotus flowers sacred across so many cultures and centuries. This is not a dramatic shift; it is more like pulling a gauze curtain across the noise of the day.
The distinction matters, and we think you deserve to know it. The Egyptian Blue Lotus (Nymphaea caerulea) was the bloom steeped in ritual wines along the Nile, revered for deeper ceremonial journeys. Nymphaea nouchali — widespread across Asia, East Africa, and beyond — carries a milder, more grounded character, making it a welcoming companion for everyday ritual, meditation, and unwinding.
Bear Blend sources this flower with the same care we bring to every herb in our apothecary: certified organic, traceable, and handled with respect for the plant and the tradition it carries. What arrives in your hands is whole, fragrant, and ready to be part of something intentional.
good to know
Blue Water Lily petals can be smoked alone or blended with other herbs such as mullein, damiana, or rose. A small pinch rolled or packed into a pipe is a natural starting point — its effects are subtle, so there is no need to rush. It also lends itself beautifully to ceremonial tea or a cool water infusion for those who prefer not to smoke.
If you have purchased Blue Lotus from other suppliers, there is a good chance you already know this flower. Nymphaea nouchali is the species most widely available in the herbal and smokable market today. We use its proper name because accuracy is a form of respect — for you, and for the plant.
Keep your Blue Water Lily in a cool, dry place away from direct light. An airtight glass jar is ideal. Stored well, dried petals hold their character for well over a year.

Just a couple hits off that blue lotus flower put me in such a chill mood I was able to forget about what was troubling me that day. I felt safe knowing that what was in that 10 was carefully selected and organic. Thanks for offering such a great product.

In one word, I would describe my first experience with Blue Lotus as 'stillness'. Between adhd and anxiety my brain is constantly churning and loud, and this cuts right through that without the brain fog I frequently get with weed. I will say that at least for me it seems to be a potent vasodilator so I've been very cold when I use it, so be cautious if that is unpleasant or risky for you and have a blanket (or 5) handy until you know how it hits you! One practical note is that you get full dried flowers in the tin, and using them as is led to a very irregular burn in my pipe and made it impossible for me to roll, so I plan to grind it down a little more next time just for ease of use. But overall I'm thrilled to have such a reliable source of potent plant support in my herbarium!

It's been great for my depression! It has left me more in tune with my body, mind, and overall well-being. It's definitely helped me feel more with my senses. Food tastes more flavorful, and colors seem brighter. This is my first herb purchased, and I will definitely buy more in the future.
